Marianne Navasie (1951-2007)
Third Frog Woman, Marianne Navasie, is the granddaughter of the original Frog Woman, Paqua Naha, and daughter of Joy Navasie, second Frog Woman. Marianne began making pottery when she was 18 years old. She followed her family's tradition of making white ware pottery with black and red design, a style first developed by her grandmother in the 1950s. Marianne signed her pots with a frog with an M next to it. Her mother, Joy Navasie, signed her pottery with a frog hallmark with webbed feet. Her grandmother’s hallmark was a frog with straight toes.
